Visiting and Erasmus+ undergraduate students are allowed to carry out additional courses at the Institut Mac Luhan (postgraduate program in Communication) and the Institut Pedro de Béthencourt (Postgraduate Program in Development Management for NGOs and IOs).

Institut Pedro de Béthencourt

A Master’s that can help giving meaning to your work ! Institut Pedro de Béthencourt offers a Master’s degree in social and humanitarian action. A Master’s created in partnership with French, European and International NGOs and associations in the field of cooperation and development.

Our teaching methods combine :

  • Role-playing and simulations of real humanitarian emergency crises and field internships (6 months)
  • Personalized coaching to develop your professional goals and to help orient your job search

Thanks to field internships and our numerous partnerships with professionals in the fields of social and humanitarian action, 92% of graduates find a job within six months after graduation.

First year

The first year is dedicated to the understanding and analysis of humanitarian and social action context. Courses deal with interpersonal and intercultural relationships and geopolitics. The students complete a four-month internship to discover the field of humanitarian and social action. They present a report at the end of the year. Duration: 400 hours of class + 4 month internship from November to February.

Second Year

The aim of the second year of studies is to gain specific professional skills and apply knowledge for use in humanitarian and social sectors. The classes deal with project cycle management: Understanding specific contexts, needs identification, fundraising, implementation and assessment. Several workshops and role-playing supplement the theoretical courses. Students also learn how to manage teams. In addition, students receive high-level courses in fundamental ethics, professional ethics and decisional ethics. Coaching tools help them to develop their professional goals.

The Masters ends with a six month internship, in France or abroad, and a report.

Duration: 500 h of classes + 6 months internship from September to August.

For non-European residents, it is highly recommanded to begin formalities for your visa as soon as possible.

Where are we located ?

Ircom is located in Les Ponts-de-Cé, close to the center of Angers, a city that is part of Loire Valley World Heritage. 1 hr 30 min from Paris and from the Atlantic Ocean. In the Maine-et-Loire Department, Pays de la Loire Region.

Angers and its metropolitan area

  • Angers: 160 000 inhabitants – Agglomération  Angers Loire Métropole: 285 000 inhabitants.
  • 40 000 students. Angers has the 5th highest concentration of students in a French city (ratio of student population/overall population).
  • Birthplace of the Plantagenet dynasty.
  • TGV (high speed train) railway station: 2 hr 30 min direct services to and from Charles de Gaulle airport.
